zoo vs mine

Seeing our future job site compared to a zoo was beginning to make me worry, so I figured we should visit a real zoo and draw our own conclusions. (And maybe get some good ideas for animal names.)

On Saturday we packed a lunch of P&J sandwiches and Annie's white cheddar bunnies, and then drove to the Tacoma Point Defiance Zoo. We saw tigers, sharks, monkeys, and best of all... a thousand human mommies with babies!

It was Mom & Me at the Zoo Day, and there were more strange "animal" calls and gestures coming from the people than the actual animals. The animals were so much more composed.

It made me start to wonder... Maybe the miners go by names like "wombat" and "penguin" because they identify more with the serenity of well-fed animals than the strangeness of their own human counterparts?

I'll be sure to present my theory when I get there.
