I keep thinking about how today, May 8th, was supposed to be our first day in Australia.
(The only thing that kept us from leaving on May 6th was Australia's last-minute decision to request an FBI background check on Mike before it would agree to granting his visa.)
Not much has changed since the last time I posted about our new situation, but we did learn a few things. For one, they aren't interested in my background at all. Only Mike's. Second, it could take anywhere between 10 days and 4 months for our paperwork to arrive. Third, we called the FBI and they assured us they're currently processing our paperwork & would try their best to meet the "10 day deadline" we gave them. But, they can't guaranty anything by any date.
As nice as all of this leisure time is, I'm really starting to miss having a job.
Here are some of the wonderful people I worked with in the reference department at the Yakima Library.

Maybe I should adopt her attitude for now!
Oh yes, and I changed the look of the blog because I'm a sucker for a white background!
