We spent the weekend in Westport, trying to find the surfing fix we had found in Mexico. One look at the surf, and I didn't even want to paddle out. (It was knee-high, windy, and freezing.) When Mike returned from battling the chop, he agreed that I had made the right choice. So instead, we flew the kite on the beach, ate the kind of smoked salmon you can only find on the Washington Coast, and drank beer.
On the way home, we listened to a podcast for learning Spanish & explored all of our possibilities if Australia doesn't work out. Stay here? Apply for jobs in other countries? Try our luck in Mexico? No matter what happens, we're excited, and we feel like we have our entire lives ahead of us.
The flowers in the photo are from Mike. Imagine that.
