model immigrants betrayed

Okay, so maybe "betrayed" isn't the right word, but here's an update on the apartment in Noosa: It's probably not happening. Since we're on temporary 457 visas, the only way to buy a home that isn't sparkling new in Australia is to make it our primary residence.

We're also undecided about whether we'd really want to live on popular Hastings Street. Before, we were looking at it as 1.) an investment for vacation rentals, and 2.)a vacation home for ourselves. It turns out it can't be either of those things.

OH! But there are some fantastic advantages of being on Hasting's Street!
1. long peeling point-breaks right across the street
2. tasty food
3. shopping ( its not really our thing, but still convenient.) For instance:

Last time I forgot to bring sunscreen. Fortunately, a pharmacy along the path to the beach gives free squirts of just about everything. Sunscreen, after-sun lotion, make up, and so on.

By the last couple of days- I just had to have it all. Here I'm enjoying a combination of zinc and blue eyeshadow, all for free!

(hm. maybe "model immigrants" wasn't the right word choice either)

Moms, we can finally get online in our room at camp so log into skype!
