Has it really only been 10 days since I've posted? It feels like a lifetime.
We've been hit with a lot of surprises since we arrived in the desert:
Like our savings somehow disappearing between the USA and Australia, via bank transfer... (It reappeared finally)
Finding out that Mike's supervisor quit work before Mike even arrived
Finding out that I'm training to be the HR officer and her last day of work is tomorrow
Suddenly we're tackling much more than we expected (or at least much too soon.)
Everything else here has been plesant. There are so many kind light-hearted people, constantly joking, constantly smiling. We've taken up running at the gym because you don't see much sunlight with a 12 hour work day. The food is good. Sleep has been great. And our days off will be even better.
